Texas County Memorial Hospital recently named Marlene Collins of Houston the July employee of the month.
Collins worked at TCMH from 1985 to 2006 and during part of that time, she managed the hospital’s dietary department. Collins returned to the dietary department at the hospital in 2007, and today she’s the assistant supervisor in the department.
“Marlene sets the standard as a hospital employee,” said Jeff Ijames, dietary department director. “She deserves this honor because she puts her all into her work.”
Ijames noted that Collins is “concerned about taking care of everyone.”
Collins received the manager of the year award in 2003 when she oversaw the TCMH dietary department.
“No one takes more pride in what they do than Marlene,” Ijames said.
As employee of the month, Collins received a certificate honoring her achievement; a pin; $100 cash; a special parking place in the TCMH lot; one day of paid vacation; a membership in the TCMH Fitness Center; a $50 gift card; a gift certificate to D&L Florist; and CD of the month from KUNQ.
A reception is planned at the hospital in honor of Collins, who is eligible for the 2009 TCMH employee of the year award.
