Gary Dean May, age 52, son of Leo May & Donna (Michael) Casey, was born on Oct. 8, 1956, in Trenton, Mo. He passed away Aug. 4, 2009, at his home in Houston, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Michael May.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Amy and Cassie; two grandchildren, Case and Kailee; two sisters, Donna and Laura; four brothers, Carl, Shane, Jeff and Leo; and many nieces and nephews along with his “sunshine,” Teresa.
He grew up in Huggins, Mo., and spent several years in Osgood, Mo. After graduating, he joined the Marines. He served his country for six years. Gary was honorably discharged March 18, 1981, receiving the rank of Corporal.
Gary spent the last years of his life as an ironworker traveling to many places around the United States.
He loved to fish, float the rivers and be outdoors. He also enjoyed being in the woods, mushroom and arrowhead hunting, and long Sunday drives.
Gary was baptized June 13, 2009.
He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Even though his time here was to short he will always be missed and always be in our hearts.

Services were 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Evans Funeral Home with Minister Steve Spencer officiating. Full Military Honors were held at Pine Lawn Cemetery. Cremation followed under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
