Lost-cost hearing aids available through Lions Club

High-tech, multi-frequency and adjustable hearing aids are available through the Houston Lions Club at a low cost.

The devices are made in America by the Siemens Co. and available to qualified applicants for no more than $410. Sales are in cooperation with national and international Lions organizations.

Qualified applicants are sent to certified audiologists who test, classify and measure the applicant for hearing aids. Once approved, the hearing aids are made and sent to the audiologist for fitting. A one-year service is included with the hearing aids.

The first step to qualifying is completing a financial application. Income should basically be equal to or less than twice the national poverty level.

Applications should call Beth Burch, eye and hearing director of the Houston Lions Club, at 417-967-9797 to begin the process. Applicants in Texas County will have first priority.
