A request for a reduction in bond was denied last Wednesday for an Ellis Prairie man accused of child molestation.
Kenny Wheeler, 67, appeared with his attorney, Brad D. Eidson, in Texas County Associate Court. Wheeler, who is charged with two counts each of child molestation and sodomy, is held on $1.25 million bond.
Wheeler also waived formal arraignment, and a preliminary hearing was set for 1 p.m. Oct. 7. Defense attorney Dee Wampler of Springfield has joined Wheeler’s case.
