Sales tax revenue collected by merchants in Texas County dropped about 4 percent from the same monthly period a year ago, the Missouri Department of Revenue reported.
The county has three, half-cent sales tax. Each generated about $60,300 during the latest monthly period. That’s down about $3,000 each from the same monthly period a year ago.
In the first 10 months of the year, the county has collected about $759,000 from each sales tax. That’s down about 3 percent for the year – about $24,000 on each.
