Freda Louise Lemons, 85, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Fulton Manor in Fulton.

She was born Jan. 21, 1924, in Upton, daughter of James Aaron and Anna Edwards Baker. She and Elvin Preston Lemons were married June 20, 1942. He died on Aug. 29, 1977.

She was raised in Upton and graduated from Houston High School.

She and her husband farmed together in the Plato area for many years. They moved to Topeka, Kan., for two years until Elvin passed away. She moved to Houston and lived there until she became ill. She then moved to Fulton to live with her son, Roger, and his wife, Sherri. She was a resident at Fulton Manor the past three years.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David Lemons in June 2008; and two sisters; Irene Harris and Bernice Ragain.

Survivors include a daughter, Erma Delcour of Topeka, Kan.; two sons, Roger Lemons of Fulton and Gary Lemons of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Miles; a brother, Ervin Baker of Houston; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were Monday, Dec. 21, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ed Williamson officiating. Burial was in Hickory Ridge Cemetery.
