Intercounty Electric Cooperative’s board of directors, upon completion of the budget for fiscal year 2010, announced this week there is no projected rate increase for members in 2010.
Intercounty said many of its members — because they are within the Ameren coverage area that includes natural gas — are receiving survey calls, town hall conference calls and postcards concerning Ameren’s request, currently before the Public Service Commission to increase electrical rates for their consumers by 18 percent. Intercounty said its members can be assured that the calls and postcards are not relative to their electric rates with Intercounty Electric Cooperative.
