Robert “Bob” George Rauscher, 77, son of George and Mary (Jecks) Rauscher, was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Ellis Prairie, Mo. He passed away Dec. 25, 2009, at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, Mo.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ellis and Ray Rauscher; and two sisters, Doris Mitchell and Ruth Warner.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Kell) Rauscher of Houston, Mo.; four sons, Robert James Rauscher and wife, Debbie, of Kansas City, Mo., Brent Kell and wife, Audrey, of Houston, Mo.; Greg Kell and wife, Jackie, of Bucyrus, Mo., and Gary Kell and wife, Janet, of St. James, Mo.; two daughters, Pat Adey and husband, Freddie, of Houston, Mo., and Mary Brown and husband, Don, of Fayette, Mo.; three grandchildren, Yvonne Wilson and husband, Curtis, Nicole Hicks and husband, Jim, and Cassandra Rauscher; and one great-granddaughter, Jerzey Hicks all of Kansas City, Mo.; 12 step-grandchildren, Jennifer Gabel and husband, Jeff, Justin Adey and wife, Mandy, Missy Gayer and husband, Brad, of Houston, Mo., Chris Kell and wife, Trista, of Aurora, Mo., Brandon Kell and wife, Jackie, of Phoenix, Ariz., Stephanie Hayes of St. James, Mo., Shannon Kell and wife, Mendy, of Rolla, Mo., Krista Yount and husband, Eric, of Columbia, Mo., Taylor Brown of Kansas City, Mo., Kelli Brown of Iowa, Megan Kell of Springfield, Mo., and Haylee Kell of Houston, Mo.; and 12 step great-grandchildren.
Bob served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 through 1956. He was stationed at Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., in 1952 and Germany in 1953 before being honorably discharged in March of 1956.
He owned a construction company in St. Louis for many years and later was a salesman of Morton Building supply.
Bob married Dorothy Kell on Nov. 10, 1979, at the home of Pat and Freddie Adey.
He loved farming, woodworking, gardening and hunting. He killed his biggest deer on his 69th birthday.
Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Crockett officiating. Pallbearers were Justin Adey, Shannon Kell, Chris Kell, Taylor Brown, Jeff Gable, Brad Gayer and Eric Yount. Burial with full military honors was in the Ellis Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
