Texas County taxpayers have until March 1 to submit 2010 personal property and business assessment lists to the county assessor.
Under state law, taxable property includes motor vehicles, boats, trailers, livestock, farm machinery and business-related equipment.
The assessment lists are the basis of 2010 personal and business property tax bills, which county residents and business owners receive in November. County Assessor Debbie James’ office will mail the forms to taxpayers.
Residents and business owners who did not receive an assessment list should call the assessor’s office at 417-967-4709 or visit the office at the Texas County Administrative Center in downtown Houston.
