Ivan Roy Williamson, 83, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 13, 1926, in Dykes, daughter of William Edward and Gladys Campbell Williamson.

He grew up on a farm near Upton and attended Coffey School and Houston High School.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Signal Corps. After being discharged, he worked many years in the Redwood Timber Industry in California. He moved to the family farm upon retiring and lived there until his death.

He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture. He also fished in his younger years. He loved gardening and sharing his produce with his family.

He was a member of the NRA for more than 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruby Reese; and four brothers, Doyle, Eugene, Robert and Virgil.

Survivors include a stepson, Dean Gibson of Ruth, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Dykes of Eureka, Calif.; three brothers, Wilbert “Pete” and Carmel Williamson of Houston and Allen Gayle Williamson of Burke, Va.; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Services were Tuesday, Jan. 26, at Evans Funeral Home with Ed Williamson officiating. Burial was in Hickory Ridge Cemetery,
