Alissa Bowlin scored 13 points in the eighth grade girls’ 36-28 loss to Licking on Tuesday night.

Sierra Weaver had five points for Houston (8-3), which had its six-game winning streak snapped.

“It’s tough not playing for so long coming off a long break, but it is something you have to do,” Houston coach John Jordan said. “This loss is a tough loss because of certain circumstances regarding practice over the holidays. Hopefully, this will make us a better team in the end. We will continue to work hard to get better.”

SEVENTH GIRLS: Kylee Elmore scored a team-best three points in a 29-7 loss Tuesday night to Licking.

Olivia Woosley and Nora Dixon scored two points apiece.

“Licking has a nice team,” Jordan said. “They are so much bigger and physical than we are. Our kids play so passively. The season winds down Thursday, and I am still looking for this team to play the way I think they can.”
