Rebecca Lynn Fairchild, 60, died Jan. 18, 2010, at her home in Houston.

She was born Jan. 5, 1950, in Prescott, Ariz., daughter of Earl Eugene Fairchild and Eva Nova Dean Cehand-Thoroughman.

She was known as “Becci” and spent her early years in Arizona and Colorado. She moved to Missouri as a teenager.

She lived for many years in the Houston area before returning to the west for a short span. She returned to Houston in 2007 to be near loved ones as she continued to battle cancer, which began in 1997.

She was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include a son, Shane Fairchild of Houston; a faithful pug dog, Cisco; a grandson; a sister, Evie “Vie” Sillyman; a brother, Lester Marvin Thoroughman Jr. of Licking; and a niece; a nephew; and five great nephews.

No services are planned at this time. The body was cremated under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Becci Fairchild memorial fund c/o Evans Funeral Home.
