Bea King

Bea (Beulah ) L. James King , 75, daughter of Paul and Emma James, was born Oct. 22, 1934, outside of Wann, Okla. She passed away Feb. 13, 2010, at Houston House Nursing Home in Houston Mo.

Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Leo G King; and her two brothers.

She is survived by her son, Michael King and his wife, Tina King, of Raymondville Mo.; two grandsons, Dakota and Curtis; two granddaughters, Ashlee and Tiffany; one great-grandson, Johnavan; two stepdaughters, Gail King and Veronica King; three stepsons, Stephen King and his wife, Monika, Greg King and his wife, Donna, and Jeffrey King and his wife, Marie; eight step-grandchildren; several nephews; and a niece.

She married Leo G. King in Iola, Kan., on Aug. 28, 1975. Leo passed away July 3, 2001.

Bea was a member of the Catholic Church in Licking, Mo. She was past president of the St John Alter Society of Iola Kan., past president of the Ft. Scott district Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and past president of the Wichita Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was also a past member of the Cochifache Chapter of the DAR of Iola.

Bea loved doing her family genealogy and working with the Catholic Church. She loved her family and friends and always enjoyed meeting new people. Bea could always take up a conversation with any stranger and talk to them like they were long lost friends.

Bea will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. On this 13th day of February, 2010, God took home his newest Valentine!

Services for Bea King were 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, at Evans Funeral Home with Wesley Wallace officiating. The family will have a memorial graveside service for the burial of the remains at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Gass, Kan., with Father Wachter officiating.
