Clyde Brown

Funeral services for Clyde Henry Brown, 77, of West Plains, Mo., and a former resident of Houston will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, inside the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains.

Mr. Brown died 6:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1932, at West Plains, Mo., to Fred Wood and Sybil Graham Brown. On Oct. 29, 1955, he was married at West Plains, Mo., to Shirley Collins.

Mr. Brown was a veteran, having served with the United States Marine Corps. Before his retirement, he was employed with GTE. Mr. Brown was of the Baptist faith with his membership at the New Liberty Baptist Church, West Plains.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Brown, of the family home; two children, Danny Brown, and wife, Diana, of West Plains and Julie Brown of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter-in-law, Debra Brown-Hawkins of Rolla; four grandchildren, Jeremy Brown, Nicholas Brown, Devin Brown and Danielle Brown; a brother, Dale Brown and wife, Alita, of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Captain Alan Clyde Brown; and three sisters, Virginia Hopkins, Dora Carter and Annabelle Cook.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at New Liberty Cemetery.
