Freddie Earl Daugherty, 76, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at his home in Seymour.

He was born May 16, 1933, in Le Grange, Ark., son of Thurman and Mary Magdalene Bronson Daugherty. He married Shirley Spencer and later married Mary Scroggins on July 3, 1994.

He loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frankie Carl and Thomas; a sister Wanda; and a great-granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; three children, Ronda Blanks and Ricky Daugherty of Summersville and Rusty Daugherty of Bowling Green; four stepdaughters, Marsha Knotts of Strafford, Marcella Loftis of Springfield and Carmen Ebert and Tina Fox of Seymour; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; a foster sister, Jackie Jackson of Boiling Springs; and many other friends and family.

Services were Saturday, Jan. 30, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Lassley officiating. Burial was at Seymour Masonic Cemetery.
