A 22-year-old Houston man was arrested Sunday by Houston police in the assault of his girlfriend and an officer.
Devin J. Carter, 22, of 721 Dooley St., was cuffed after the incident. He faces second-degree domestic assault, resisting or interfering with a felony arrest and third-degree assault of a law enforcement officer, David Kidwell, who sustained a cut below the eye, according to a report.
Kidwell arrived at 3:19 a.m. Sunday to the sounds of a female screaming. The victim had earlier called Wri-Tex 911 for help. Kidwell entered a bedroom to find Carter standing over a female on the floor. According to a report, she had her arms out stretched in front of her.
The victim was injured but did not require emergency treatment, according to the report.
