A Houston High School graduate was recently recognized by the Special Olympics Missouri as the outstanding coach of the year for the Kansas City metro area.
Cathy Rice is one of eight coaches to be recognized at the SOMO spring games in Springfield. One coach will be named the state’s coach of the year.
Rice, a 1985 HHS graduate, is the daughter of Bill and Pat Rice. She is the coordinator for Special Olympics in the Blue Springs School District.
