Addie Gertrude Satterfield Scurlock, 94, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 15, 1915, daughter of Riley Arthur and Mary Melinda Leadbetter Satterfield. She and William Glen Scurlock were married Dec. 5, 1939, in Waynesville.

She loved cooking and caring for her family and others. She raised four children and two grandchildren.

She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She broke nearly 20 gallons of green beans last summer. Skippy, Chance and Cheetoh were three loyal dog companions in her later years. One of her favorite pastimes was raising chickens.

She received care from her son, Charlie, and two caregivers, Annette and Myrtle, while she was sick for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and infant son, Floyd Eugene; a daughter, Reta Jaunita Koller; three sisters, Edna Humphrey, Iva Fagan and Dora Satterfield; and three brothers, Hurald, Lloyd and Harvey Satterfield.

Survivors include a son, Charlie of Licking; a daughter, Helen Dorn-Haller of Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services were Wednesday, March 17, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with her nephew, Donald Scurlock Jr., officiating.
