Nola Mae Proe, 69, of Cabool, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Kabul Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 25, 1941, near Cabool, daughter of Alvin and Myrtle Briggs Proe.

She attended Mountain Grove High School and graduated with the class of 1959. She received her teaching degree in 1962 from Missouri State University.

She retired to the family farm northeast of Mountain Grove after a 30-year teaching career. She enjoyed farm animals and gardening. She was also active in church work and volunteered at the S.O.S. Center in Cabool.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Proe.

Survivors include a brother, Richard Proe of Waco, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and friends.

Services were Tuesday, March 9, at Cabool First Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Marti officiating. Burial was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home.
