The Houston tennis team lost its season debut 9-0 Tuesday at Waynesville.
The Tigers’ closest defeat was Samantha Jones’ 8-4 singles loss.
“I was disappointed with the way we struck the ball. We just didn’t hit it very cleanly,” Houston coach John Jordan said. “I thought we were better than them at a couple of positions but we didn’t show it.”
The JV Tigers lost 10-1 to Waynesville. Michael Castleman’s 6-3 victory was the lone win.
