Joyce Lee Ellis, 79, of Cabool, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at her home.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1931 in Cowell, Ark., daughter of James A. and Lilly L. Lambdin Smith. She and Billy J. Ellis were married June 6, 1950.
She loved to bake and tend to her garden as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy J. Ellis; and a brother, James Smith.
Survivors include a daughter, Billie Jo Ellis of the home; three sisters, Anna Sain and Danace Phillips of Cabool and Carol Lynch of Newark, Calif.; and many other relatives, neighbors and friends.
Services were Monday, April 5, at Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel with Leon Slape and Chris Cobb officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Elk Creek.
