Bob Haney

Robert “Bob” Lee Haney, 78, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, in St. John’s Hospital.

He was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Houston, son of Roy and Anna Kirkwood Haney.

He grew up in Houston and attended Oak Hill and Houston Schools. He was saved in 1960 at Houston Free Will Baptist Church.

He was a truck driver for many years. He had several interests, including country music, square dancing, camping and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include five children, Eddie, Bobby and Roger of Amarillo, Texas, Mike of Keokuk, Iowa, and Janet Rust of Houston; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a close friend, Mable Tetrick; two brothers: Leon Haney of Houston and Harold Haney of Arnold; and two sisters, Wanda Floyd and Vivian Davenport of Houston.

Services were Monday, May 17, in Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Davenport officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
