Claude “Duck” Cook, 79, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Mountain View Health Care.
He was born May 4, 1931, in Hartshorn, son of Charley and Nancy “Dollie” Stringer Cook. He and Ruby Rachel Vonallmen were married Nov. 5, 1960.
He loved to ride around and look at the countryside. He and his wife spent many days driving and enjoying the Ozarks. He liked hunting, fishing and camping. When he became unable to hunt, he still enjoyed sitting in the woods.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; five brothers, Olen, Shorty, Lloyd, Clyde and Carl Cook; a sister, Fern German; a grandson; and a niece.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Sykes of Hartshorn; two granddaughters; a grandson; a sister, Bonnie Vandevort of Mountain View; four great-granddaughters; a great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were Saturday, May 15, at Valley Center Baptist Church with the Rev. Van Kirkwood officiating. Burial was in Valley Center Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
