David Lee Perry, 64, of Hartshorn, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born March 21, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was adopted by Jim and Veva Perry of Prairie City, Iowa, on March 23, 1946.
After high school, he served in the Navy and spent a few years as a truck driver. He worked in furniture sales and owned a small engine repair service before working as a car salesman at John Deery Motors in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He worked there for 27 years before retiring in 2005 at the age of 59.
Survivors include his wife, Floralyn of Hartshorn; seven children, Michael David Perry of Ankeny, Iowa, Suzanne Elizabeth Perry-Odom of Huxley, Iowa, Keith Lawrence Perry of Grundy Center, Iowa, David James Perry and James Edward Perry of Waverly, Iowa, Stephanie Kay Perry of Decorah, Iowa, and Christian Lee Perry of Waterloo, Iowa; three stepdaughters, Heather Ann Flory of Dike, Iowa, and Kimberly Noel Flory and Cathryn Mae Flory of Denver, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and two siblings, Robert Lyn Perry of Texas and Sharon Ruble of Colorado.
Memorial services were Saturday, May 8, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Schrock officiating.
