Lou Ella Roderick Bosworth, 78, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at her home in Springfield.

She was born June 18, 1931, in Upton, daughter of Leonard Wheeler and Grace Arlena Baker Roderick. She and Chandler Bosworth were married Nov. 10, 1951, at Lowry Air Force Base Chapel #2 in Denver, Colo.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, word puzzles, cooking, quilting, collecting cookbooks and cookie jars and going to garage sales. She loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Chandler of the home; three children, Karyn Suzanne Myers of Springfield, Mark Bosworth of Richmond, Va., and Brooke Blue of Clayton, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and another one on the way; a brother, Leyburn Roderick of Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Hickory Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor David Roderick officiating. Cremation followed under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
