A Roby man was seriously injured early Sunday morning when his motorcycle struck a small deer north of Evening Shade on Highway 17.
Cpl. Curtis Haden said Nicholas W. Sommers’ 2007 Yamaha 1100 was traveling southbound at 12:05 a.m. when the animal was struck. The impact caused the motorcycle to go off the right side of the roadway, overturn and throw Sommers, who was flown from the scene to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield
