Wilma Ballard

Wilma P. Randall Ballard, 87, of Mountain Grove, died Monday, May 3, 2010.

She was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Harlan County, Nebraska, daughter of Vernon and Emily Reynolds Randall. She and Melvin Ballard were married Nov. 5, 1943, in Upton.

She was a retired bookkeeper and prepared income taxes for many years. She enjoyed working in her garden, going to yard sales and auctions and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Melvin; and a brother, Lewis Randall.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Ballard of Alton and Benney Ballard of Neosho; three grandchildren; 15 adopted grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 15 adopted great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laveda Douglas of Houston and Irene Longwell of Greeley, Colo.; and a host of relatives and friends.

Services were Friday, May 7, at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Crockett officiating. Burial was in Hickory Ridge Cemetery.
