Two Texas County residents were injured Tuesday night in a crash in Polk County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a vehicle driven westbound by Sonia R. McCart, 33, of Cabool, crossed the roadway on a curve and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Charles E. Clayton, 50, of Pleasant Hope, nearly head-on. The mishap occurred on a county road about six miles east of Pleasant Hope.
McCart and a passenger, Allison R. Samuel, 14, of Cabool; and a passenger in the other vehicle, Cathyann Clayton, 49, of Pleasant Hope, were transported to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. McCart and Cathyann Clayton had moderate injuries, while Samuel’s injuries were deemed minor, according to a report. All were wearing seat belts.
