A game set for Friday has been canceled.

Members of the Midwest Baseball Academy will provide instruction at Houston coach Brent Hall’s annual Tigers baseball camp.

The camp is open to players ages 10-18 and will be from 9-11:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. Cost is $50. Players should bring their own bat and glove.

The Midwest Baseball Academy is headquartered at Balls-N-Strikes indoor baseball training facility in Nixa. It serves 22 surrounding coun ties, including Texas.

The staff includes instructors with collegiate and major league experi ence. All three will be at the Houston camp:

-Jamie Sheetz has twice served as an assistant baseball coach at Missouri State University. He has coached six players who have played Major League Baseball, including 2006 MVP Ryan Howard and former Oakland A’s closer Brad Ziegler.

-Randy Merryman has had more than 200 of his former players sign to play college baseball and 40 were drafted.

-Alan Mahaffey was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 1995, and played six minor league seasons. He is an associate scout with the Cleve land Indians.

Boys basketball

Coach Dustin Kirkman will host his first boys’ basketball camp June 14-17. Cost is $30 and includes a T shirt.

Players in the 5-6 grade will meet from 8-9:30 a.m. The 7-8 grades will have camp from 9:45-11:45 a.m. High schoolers will meet from 6:30-9 p.m.
