A county organization will hold a fish fry to pay for recent improvements at its facility east of Houston.
The Animal Shelter of Texas County is planning the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at Spring Garden in Houston.
Proceeds will be used to pay for two new kennels, a storage room for cat and dog food, a utility room and meeting/break room for volunteers that also has storage space.
The menu includes walleye, fries, hush puppies, slaw and dessert. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $5 for children 12 and under. Those 3 and under eat free. Tickets are available at several locations.
