A Licking woman was seriously injured early Sunday in a single-vehicle crash east of Salem, the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Officers said Julia R. Boardman, 23, was westbound on Highway 32 when her 2005 Pontiac Sunfire left the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn and it went back across the highway, coming to rest in the ditch.

Boardman was taken to Salem Memorial District Hospital in Salem and later flown to St. John’s Hospital in St. Louis.

She is charged with DWI, failure to drive on the right half of the road and proof of no insurance, according to a report.

Troopers said Boardman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the 2:15 a.m. crash.
