Loretta Ellen Rauscher Selby, 63, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan.
She was born Sept. 8, 1946, in Baltimore, Md., daughter of Ellis and Lorene Cavaness Rauscher. She and Jimmy Selby were married in the fall of 1964.
She grew up in the Overland area and graduated in 1964 from Northwest High School in House Springs. She later lived many years in the Texas County area.
She enjoyed caring for animals, riding horses, fishing, camping and sitting on the back porch. She loved baking, especially baked goods, and spending time with her family.
She was an artist and received first place in a St. Louis art show in 1964. She enjoyed doing handwork such as crocheting and sewing.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was young at Texas County Baptist Camp.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Rauscher.
Survivors include two sons, Darrell Selby of Bourbon and Kevin Selby of Houston; his mother, Lorene Rauscher of Arnold; a sister, Mary Kelly of St. Louis; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were Saturday, June 26, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Barbee officiating. Burial was in Cavaness Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cavaness Cemetery.
