Roy Everett Cooper, 92, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at St. John’s Hospital.

He was born June 2, 1917, in Eadenville, son of Earl and Ollie Hildebrand Cooper. He and Gladys Leona Firestine were married Jan. 5, 1946. She died in 1995.

He served 12 years in the Marine Corp. After being discharged, he worked as a laborer. He owned and worked a farm until retiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a wife, Gladys; a second wife, Lorene; and five brothers.

Survivors include seven children, Mary Hunt, Betty Welch, John Cooper, Ray Cooper and Donna Enke of Lenox and Vonda Kinder and Nora Daniels of Rolla; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister; a brother; and three stepdaughters, Evon Dukes and Bonnie Hunter of Flat and Phyllis Wilson of Duke.

Services were Saturday, May 29, at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Phillip McGuire officiating. Burial was in Hutchason Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
