The Texas County Garden Club will hold summer gardening classes beginning June 15 with a session on soil amendments and fertilizer.
The first class starts at 6 p.m. Garden pests will be discussed at 7:15 p.m. A donation of $5 per person or family is suggested for both sessions to cover printed materials.
The classes are at the Church of Jesus Christ-Latter day Saints at Highway E and U.S. 63 north of Houston.
Other classes planned include: backyard chicken raising, small engine maintenance and repair, gardening for good nutrition, composting, flower preservation and growing and using herbs.
