Results from a community survey will guide Houston leaders on future projects.

The City of Houston hopes that a survey will give it a comprehensive picture of the thoughts of its citizens.

The confidential questionnaire, arriving in mailboxes, includes a letter from Mayor Steve Hutcheson and a seven-page format that allows residents to give input on the state of Houston and its plans for the future.

The document was developed by city leaders and a Springfield firm, Ellickson Research, which specializes in municipal surveys.

Writes Hutcheson, “The City of Houston is interested in your opinions on Houston’s quality of life, city government and services. The information will help us with our long-range planning and help us better serve you, the taxpayer.”

Along with the questionnaire, residents also will receive a self-addressed stamped envelope to return it to city hall. The deadline to return is July 10.
