Cecil "Pistol" Lloyd Phillips

Cecil Lloyd Phillips Jr., 47, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at a friend’s home.

He was born May 2, 1963, in Butler, son of Cecil Lloyd and Marcia Ann Hoover Phillips. He and Melissa Ann were married July 3, 1994.

He was known as “Pistol” to friends and family. He entered the Army on June 3, 1981, and was honorably discharged June 10, 1983. He loved working in his garden, tending to livestock and spending time with his children, friends and family. He was a Christian.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa of Yukon; two sons, Travis Scott of St. Joseph and William Dale of Yukon; a daughter, Megan LeAnn of Yukon; two brothers, Eddie Phillips of Houston and Randy Phillips of Belton; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were Tuesday, July 20, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ed Edington officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Big Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Cecil “Pistol” Phillips Memorial Fund.
