The Texas County Fair and its sister attraction, the 100th annual Old Settlers Reunion, finishes a four-night run today with a junior livestock sale and demolition derby.
Admission is free into the fairgrounds. Some grandstand events include a fee. Southern Fun Carnival is providing the midway. The community building will include several displays.
Here’s a schedule of activities:
SATURDAY – 7 p.m. demolition derby finals. The prize purse is more than $5,000.
The oldest visitor who registers at the fair will receive a rocking chair from Crowley’s HomeWorks.
Gates open at 5 p.m.
The Texas County Fair Board is sponsoring several livestock competitions at the pavilion on the chamber grounds. Owners of dairy, beef, swine, sheep, goats, rabbits and poultry will compete. Horticulture, field crops, agriculture mechanics, home economics and junior fair categories also are planned. A detailed section with schedules appeared in last week’s Herald.
