Houston officers handled a variety of calls during the last week.

A Houston woman reported to police that someone wiped her purse from an office parking lot.

Officers answered a call from Andrea R. Hall, 24, of Summersville, who reported her purse stolen from a parked car at the Wri-Tex 911 office at 1333 S. Sam Houston Blvd. The purse and its contents were valued at $599. Among the items taken were an iPod Nano and digital camera.

In other matters, police:

-Cited Curry G.C. Van Horn, 16, 8261 Mineral Drive, with failing to yield the right-of-way on July 25.

-Investigated a July 23 accident that police said occurred when a vehicle driven by Ruth A. Sheperd, 72, of Salem, attempted to avoid a collision with two vehicles near Highway 17 and Airport Road. Her vehicle left the roadway and struck a dirt embankment to a gravel road, police said. Witnesses said the two vehicles had abruptly stopped.

-Arrested Megan L. Neal, 27, of 204 Steffens, on Phelps County warrant charging her with stealing under $500. She was unable to post $100 cash only bond on July 20.

-Cited Jessica L. Spauldin, 17, of 301 Hamrick, with disobeying an electric signal on July 18.

-Charged Eddie Franklin Lee Day, 20, of 7003 Highway 17, with having no operator’s license on July 25.

-Arrested Devin J. Carter, 22, 721 Dooley, on a revocation of bond charge for violating condition of his bond, including drug use, according to charges filed by the county prosecutor.
