Goldie Duncan

Goldie Faye Duncan, 88, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at St. John’s Hospital.

She was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Reynolds County, daughter of Abe and Emma Bowman Grogan.

She read her Bible daily, prayed and attended church when she was able. She lived most of her adult life in Summersville, where she and her husband, Amos, had various businesses.

Following her husband’s death, she moved near her children and grandchildren in Nixa. She attended Nixa Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Amos in 1991; a son, Carl Leroy Duncan in 2007; four brothers, Ralph Grogan, Troy Grogan, Roy Grogan and Hugh Grogan; three sisters, Lenora Trent, Mildred Duncan and Grace Bernell; and several other family members.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Tsang of Springfield; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Earlene Roderman of Kansas City; a half-sister, Cleta Jackson of Yellville, Ark.; and many friends.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at Bradford Funeral Home. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the funeral home with Pastor Arvel Schweighauser officiating. Burial will be in Summersville City Cemetery.
