Authorities are searching for a man in northwest Texas County.

An elderly missing man who went missing Tuesday morning was found safely in the Mark Twain National Forest, according to Lt. Melissa Dunn of the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.

Dunn said the man was riding a four-wheeler that had become stuck on a log. He was found by authorities at 12:30 p.m. – about two hours after the search began, Dunn said.

A command post was established at Highway 17 and Rose Drive after the man went missing. Members of the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, Texas County Rescue Squad, Roby Fire Department, U.S. Forest Service and Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted.
