Police issue citations

Several underage drinkers face charges following a traffic stop by Houston police.

Police cited Jonathan J. Vandgrifft, 20, of 8164 Morton Road, Lot 5, with failing to register a motor vehicle – plates expired and minor in possession of alcohol (by consumption), on Aug. 23.

Also charged during the stop were: Clarence L. Hall, 18, 8905 Highway E, Lot 1, with minor in possession of alcohol (by consumption); Amy S. Hickey, 17, of 8164 Morton Road, Lot 5, with minor in possession of alcohol (by consumption); and Chasity M. Counts, 24, 6121 Highway 17, peace disturbance and resisting a police officer.

In other matters, police:

-Arrested Brandon G. Cross, 25, of Cabool, on a DWI charge and failing to drive on the right half of the roadway on Aug. 29.

-Charged Michelle L. Rutter, 23, of 1100 N. Industrial Drive, with stealing under $500 by shoplifting at Houston Walmart Supercenter. Police said the items taken included school supplies, jeans and a magazine totaling about $89 on Aug. 29.

-Cited John R. Knetzer Jr., 18, of 5761 Hogan Road, with failing to register a motor vehicle – plates expired on Aug. 28.

-Arrested Kerry D. Brooks, 23, of 8447 Mineral Drive, on a City of Houston warrant charging him with driving while suspended. He was unable to post $2,000 cash bond on Aug. 28.

-Cited Cody W. Christopher, 20, of Raymondville, with stealing under $500 by shoplifting at Houston Walmart Supercenter on Aug. 25. Police said computer equipment worth $27 was taken.

-Charged Megan L. Neal, 27, of 302 W. Mill, with driving while revoked on Aug. 24.

-Charged Kathy L. Durham, 49, 211 Grand Ave., Apt. 103, with third-degree assault on Aug. 22. Randall L. Dunkin, 29, and Jessica A. Waldron, 27, both of 211 Grand Ave., Apt. 103, were charged with peace disturbance. Waldron also faces a charge of failing to obey a police officer.

-Investigated the theft of medication and other items Aug. 20 from the James A. Stanton residence, 108 W. Cedar. Total value of the listed items, excluding the prescription medications, is $168.
