A box of Cra-Z-Art markers like these were used to attempt to smuggle tobacco into the Texas County Jail.

Erin K. Jarman of Houston was arrested Sunday by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department for delivery or concealment of prohibited items to the county jail.

Jarman, 29, came to the jail to visit inmate Chad Yates, 27, of Houston. She had in her possession a box of 10 Cra-Z-Art markers. Upon inspection, an officer discovered that five of the markers had tobacco packed inside of them and that one had cigarette rolling papers in it.

Jarman told authorities that she was following instructions given to her by Yates in a letter. Yates first denied that claim, then said it was true.

Jarman was given a citation and released.
