Diane Marie Echols, beloved daughter of her father, Michael E. Echols, and her mother, Monika L. (Lambertz) Echols, was born in the German city of Simmern on April 6, 1981. Diane was tragically taken from her family by a single car accident that occurred on Sept. 20, 2010, at the intersection of Highway 17 and Slabtown Road in northern Texas County when she lost control of her vehicle and exited the roadway, resulting in her death.
Diane is survived by her husband, Allen Vergara; her two sons, Jayden Michael Echols, 6, and Allen Vergara, Jr., 3; and her parents, Michael E. Echols and Monika L. (Lambertz) Echols.
Diane as a child and through her adolescence traveled with her father and mother throughout the world as a military family member and completed her High School education at Plato, Mo. She was enrolled in college and was very close to completing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at Columbia College, located on the Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., extension campus.
Diane enjoyed music and participated in high school band while attending Plato High School. She received awards for her ability to play the saxophone throughout her high school musical career. Diane exuded a vibrancy of life and was always able to make people smile with her shining personality and sense of humor. She was a doting mother to her two boys, a loving wife and the only, loving child of her parents who will all miss her dearly.

A memorial service is 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Evans Funeral Home with Pastor David Barbee officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until service time. Her body has been cremated. Services are under the care of Evans Funeral Home.
