INJURY REPORT: Houston coach David Williams said Kaden Miller (concussion) and Dakota Stigall (hip) will not play Friday against Ava. Miller was injured against Mountain Grove and taken to the hospital to be evaluated. Williams believes he will return next week. Senior Corey Stallcup (ankle) will likely play. Williams said Stallcup, who missed portions of last week’s game after the injury, was running at half speed on Monday.

ABOUT AVA: Brett Lambert had 273 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the Bears’ 37-13 victory Friday against Cabool. The school record is 315 by Chance Dry in 2005. …The Bears are 2-1 and 1-1 in conference play. Ava defeated Strafford 35-28 in overtime to begin the season before losing 10-8 to Willow Springs. …Ava went 7-3 and finished in a three-way tie for the conference championship last season under first-year coach Dan Swofford. …The Bears had 264 rushing yards and 418 yards of total offense in the season opener. They had another 199 rushing yards against Willow Springs. …Quarterback Garrett Baird averaged 91.5 yards passing in the Bears’ first two games. …Ava defeated Houston 33-7 last season.
