A Houston High School student is suspended and charged by local police after marijuana was discovered.
Police cited Stetson S. Holler, 18, of Yukon, with possession of marijuana under 35 grams. School authorities notified police, who said Holler was alleged to have been passing the illegal weed around on a morning bus ride from Raymondville.
Holler denied the marijuana was his on Sept. 10. According to a report, Holler has been suspended from school for 10 days and a longer suspension is being sought from the district superintendent.
In other matters, police:
-Referred a 14-year-old girl to authorities following a Sept. 25 incident at apartments on Spruce Street. According to a report, a domestic dispute occurred that involved assault and breakage of items in the apartment.
-Cited Mengies C. Robertson, 77, of 1201 Chestnut St., with failing to yield the right-of-way Sept. 25 following an accident. Police said Robertson’s vehicle struck a car at Hamrick Avenue and West Highway 17 driven by Donald Pearson Jr., 21, of Summersville.
-Heard Debra M. Gladden, 52, 103 King St., was missing a license plate from a vehicle on Sept. 21.
-Charged Jeff L. Wakenight, 27, of Summersville, with disturbance of public peace and third-degree assault at a residence on Redbud Drive. A 19-year-old woman was assaulted, police said.
-Investigated missing carpenter’s and mechanic tools from a shed at the Winona Smith residence on Quaker Street. The structure had a padlock.
