More than 800 bridges in Missouri will be improved or repaired in the next five years.

Traffic reopened Friday on U.S. 63 at the “Twin Bridges” over Arthur and Bender Creeks north of Houston.

Traffic is no longer controlled with the temporary signals that had been placed during the bridge rehabilitation project.

The project, awarded to West Plains Bridge and Grading LLC, completed bridge deck rehabilitations on the structures.

The bridges were identified as those among 802 across the state with critical improvement needs. These 802 bridges will be repaired or replaced through the MoDOT Safe & Sound bridge improvement program within five years.
