Fern Seaman McCoy, 98, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Kabul Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 10, 1912, in Eldon, Iowa. She and Ben McCoy were married in 1953. He died June 13, 1974.
She lived most of her life in Burlington Iowa, where she ran the front office at the Iowa Army Ammunition plant prior to her marriage and move to Ottumwa, Iowa.
She loved telling jokes and sharing stories. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She spent many hours crocheting and giving the items to friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Harry, Harold, Charles and Arthur Seaman; and two sisters, Ruth Seaman and Rosella Susie Day.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
A celebration of life will be from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Comfort Suites in Burlington, Iowa. The body was cremated under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
