Frances Latham

Frances Mae Latham, 96, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010.

She was born March 18, 1914, daughter of Albert Alonzo Chandler and Mary “Emma” Bales Chandler. She and Charles “Frank” Latham were married May 11, 1930.

She was raised in New Mexico and lived with her husband in Arizona, Portales, New Mexico and Colorado. When they retired, they moved to Houston to be near their daughter and family.

She gave her life to her Savior as a child. She was a member of Souls Harbor Church and attended as long as her health permitted.

She was employed as a dental assistant for 25. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and cooking lunch for them on Sunday afternoon.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Hoage Chandler; two sisters, Maggie Coffman and Maude Ingram; four children, Tommy Frank, Mary Belle, Donald Ray, and Lewis Leroy; and an infant granddaughter.

Survivors include a daughter, Sammye Haney of Houston; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a niece; and two nephews.

Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bythel Friend officiating. Visitation is 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas County Hospice of Care.
