The Houston Herald this week introduced a new, free calendar on its website that offers more interactivity with the communities it serves.
For the first time, users will able to submit event items with the ability of adding a description, including a website address that offers more information.
Several tools allow readers to share details about events through social networks, such as Facebook, print it, e-mail it or even ask a question to a contact person.
Users also can search for events, including keywords, date range, title, description, location and more.
The calendar is posted at the bottom of the homepage. It can also be found at http://www.houstonherald.com/calendar. Users can also click on the date on the monthly calendar to see items scheduled for that day.
The Herald’s website traffic continues to grow since launched in 2000. In September, there were 92,105 unique computer users who accessed 396,089 pages. In three of the last four years, it has been judged Missouri’s top weekly newspaper site.
The calendar is designed to offer more interactivity for countyresidents.
