The Houston JV volleyball team completed its season Saturday with a third-place finish at the West Plains Tournament.

Desiree Venable had a team-high seven kills and Kenzie Scheets handed out 12 assists as the Lady Tigers squeaked past Cabool 25-25, 18-16 in the third-place match.

Houston went 4-1-1 in the tournament and finished the 2010 season with an 18-7-1 record.

Amber Sillyman had seven assists, five kills and three aces in the victory against Cabool. Sydney Cremer had two aces.

In pool play, Houston defeated Conway (25-17, 25-6) and Willow Springs (25-18, 25-12) and split with Parkview (22-25, 25-19).

To begin tournament play, Sillyman had seven kills and 20 assists in a 25-22, 25-15 victory against Licking. Venable had a team-high eight kills.

In the second tournament match, Sillyman had eight kills in a 25-22, 25-20 loss to Parkview.

Scheets had 11 assists. Sillyman and Cremer had four aces each.
